2.Local culture
Unlike many large Chinese cities with a long history, Qingdao is a relative newcomer, being nothing but a fishing village in 1897. The majority of residents are immigrants having migrated from other locations to take advantage of the opportunities Qingdao offers. Nonetheless a distinctive local accent known as "Qingdao Hua" distinguishes the residents of the city from those of the surrounding province (who speak "Shandong Hua", both being dialects of Mandarin).
The distinctive cuisine is Lu Cai, the Shandong regional style.
The area's most famous festival is the Qingdao International Beer Festival, held annually since 1991.

5. Transportation
Qingdao Liuting International Airport (TAO) is located 23 kilometers (19.9 miles) from the center of the city. Flights connect more than 30 large Chinese cities, as well as foreign cities such as Japan; Korea; Singapore and regional areas like Hong Kong and Macau.
The railway station is on the Tai'an road near Zhan Bridge.Everyday, trains go to more than 15 major cities in China.
There are 7 expressways linking Qingdao and many major cities.They are Jiqing,Jiaozhouwan, Xiliu, Shuangliu, Weilai, Xilai and Qingyin.
There are 2 international shipping lines in Qingdao. Ships go to Korea and Japan.The transportation station is on Xinjiang Rd.
6. Climate
Qingdao enjoys mild summers and relatively warm winters, with the average July temperature at 23.8°C and the average January temperature at -0.7°C.There is more rain in June and July, at an average of 150 mm.
7. Attraction
Laoshan
Lao Mountain rises from the sea level, and has a coast line of 87 kilometers, structuring a wonder on the sea.Take a walk around, with the sea on one side, and lofty stones and precipitous peaks on the other side, both majestic and elegant.
Zhan Bridge
Built in 1891 as a naval pier, now the Zhanqiao Pier is symbol of the Qingdao city. It is 440 meters long reaching into Qingdao Bay. At the southern end of it, there is a traditional 2-story pavilion. It is an ideal place to enjoy the sea view.
