1.Brief Introduction
As the capital of the People's Republic of China, Beijing is the center of nation's politic, economy, cultural and education. with a 3,000-year history, Beijing has been China's primary capital for more than seven centuries. The old city walls have been replaced by ring roads, and many of the old residential districts of alleys and courtyard houses have been turned into high-rise hotels, office buildings, and department stores. Beijing, a dynamic city where the old and new intermingle, remains a magnet for visitors from inside and outside China.In 2008 when Beijing hosts the Olympic Games, Beijing will show the world something so special that everyone will be awestruck by Beijing's latest accomplishments combined with its ancient history. 
2.Local Culture
 Together with Xi’an, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Nanjing and Hangzhou, Beijing is one of the six ancient cities in China. there is an unparalleled wealth of discovery to delight and intrigue travelers as they explore Beijing's ancient past .
Beijing Opera is well-known throughout the national capital.As one of the highest achievements of Chinese culture, Beijing Opera is performed through a combination of song, spoken dialogue, and codified action sequences, such as gestures, movement, fighting and acrobatics. The Siheyuan is a traditional architectural style of Beijing. A siheyuan consists of a square housing compound, with rooms enclosing a central courtyard. Siheyuans line Hutongs  or alleys, which connect the interior of Beijing's old city. Now it is a famous scenic spot in Beijing.Once ubiquitous in Beijing, siheyuans and hutongs are now rapidly disappearing, as entire city One such example can be seen at Nanchizi.
3.Shopping and Food
To experience the pleasure of Chinese food completely, it is not enough to choose something comfortingly familiar, such as sweet-and-sour pork.The foods from Beijing are satisfying indeed, with sharpened, direct flavors that Westerners undoubtedly will enjoy. Northern cooks developed wheat pancakes, such as the famous Peking duck, and thin wheat skins for meat-filled pot-sticker dumplings.
4.Entertainment
Chinese Acrobatic Show
Chinese acrobatics have a long history. They remain as one of the most popular art forms in China.It has gone through extensive evolution and development to reach their current level and fame. Challenging acts have been developed - 'Balancing Chairs', 'Trick with Jars', 'Flying Trident','Hoop-Diving' and 'Traditional Conjuring' are all equally intriguing performances. In addition, there are Wushu, Diabolo Skills and the famous Lion Dance, all conceived from folk sports and games.
Peking Opera
A visit to the Chinese opera is a relaxed affair. There is no need for your evening dress and tie when visitring an opera house, unlike the West normal neat day clothes will do
5. Transportation
The airport is located in Shunyi District.There are many domestic flight and flight to several countries every day.The T3 terminal,completed in 2008,is the biggest one in Asia.There are two railway station in Beijing.The railway station is extend in all directions.The bus and subway system is very convenient that make you comfortable.
 6.Climate
The city's climate is harsh, characterized by hot, humid summers and cold, windy, dry winters.
Average temperatures is -7 to -4 °C, while average temperatures in July is 25 to 26 °C.
The best season in Beijing is autumn.It is cool and sunny.
7.Attrictions
Great Wall
A symbol of ancient Chinese civilization, the Great Wall has stood for more than 2,000 years.. It is said that it is the human engineering projects visible by astronauts from space with the naked eye. The Great Wall at Badaling ,75km north of Beijing is the most typical of the Wall during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). There the wall is wide enough for 5 horsemen to ride abreast or 10 men to walk side by side.
Temple of Heaven
As the China's largest temple and altar complex, the Temple of Heaven in the southern part of Beijing occupy 270 hectares. The Temple of Heaven is an exquisite and extraordinary example of Chinese religious architecture. Construction of the temple began in 1420 and at the temple emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for abundant harvests.
Forbidden City
The Forbidden City,also known as Imperial Palace Museum,was commissioned by the third Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yong Le. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction in China. The total area of the complex is 183 acres, so it takes quite a while to walk through, especially if you want to have a close look at everything. All together there are 9,999 1/2 rooms in the Museum,but not all of which can be visited.
