The Ming tombs are situated at the foot of heavenly longevity mountain,Changping county,northwest of Beijing. The Ming Tombs, which form a group of mausoleums, buried 13 emperors in the Ming Dynasty (1368~1644). It covers an area of about 120 square kilometers. The Ming Tombs are characterized by its complete system, large size,and intact preservation. As the representative of ancient Chinese imperial mausoleums and part of the age-old Chinese culture, they process a very high historic and cultural value. In 1982,the Badaling-Ming tombs scenic area was listed as an important well-known national scenic spot.
